Kilkenny Abbey Quarter – Europe in my Backyard

The Kilkenny Abbey Quarter is a vibrant new urban quarter in the heart of the medieval city. Providing an exceptional business location for companies seeking outstanding global connectivity and the capacity to attract high calibre talent.
Located on the site of the former Brewery on the banks of the River Nore. This site was originally settled in the 13th century by Franciscan monks who established St. Francis Abbey.
In recent years the development plots were acquired by Kilkenny Abbey Quarter Development Partnership, a Joint Venture between Kilkenny County Council and the National Treasury Management Agency. The Southern Regional Assembly is the Irish partner in an Interreg Europe Project called Blue Green City. The project aims to promote green and blue infrastructures as an integral part of a local/regional natural heritage preservation strategy.

A NEAR MEDIA Co-op production for the Europe in my Backyard project to raise awareness about the impact of European cohesion policy in Ireland.
